I Got Craft Scissors!!

Thank you all so much for your awesome comments! =D
I love reading what you have to say, compliment or constructive criticism! you all rock!! I love looking at other blogs, and do often. Don't mind me if I don't comment as often as I should.. =(
I should start doing shout-outs, yes? Yes. I'll find a blog and next post, they will get a shoutout! =D

So I finally picked up some craft scissors, as the title so says!
I got 12 pairs for 7 bucks at Michael's. So you could imagine they probably suck..They do a bit!!
But I don't care, it worked perfectly for what I wanted!

These are the designs it came with. I couldn't pass this up. Even though quality does not go hand in hand with quantity on this one!

But they are sooo pretty! =D Check out those COLORS!!

This is the mani I created with one. I wanted different greens, but I work with what I have. Now I suddenly have green cremes of various shades on my wishlist!
I used Orly Lucky Duck, and Sally Hansen Green With Envy(which of COURSE looks too yellow in this..=/ )

Let me share with you some tips I found, especially with working with the cheapy scissors:
Fold down the edge of the tape just a bit. I've folded it a lot more here than I should, just to show what I mean.

Place the tape to a paper. One that is more slick works the best! I used a Kohl's advertisement that the tape will peel off of easily. Cut the paper into the size and shape you are looking for.

All size pieces work!! Peel the tape off the paper using the folded edge you made.

And there you have it! Use the tape however you like it. Don't forget to remove the tape while the lacquer is still wet, or it won't work nearly as well!

Edgy French

Hey friends!
You won't believe it, but that purple mani I had going on lasted like 4 days! Crazy right?
There was one in between, it lasted about a day. I never finished it either, so no pics. =(
But here's this! I love matte! This one was super simple and super fun to do!

So I used Venique Dominating Thigh Highs for black. My Sephora NOPI mattecoat, Venique The Perfect Accessory is the red!!

In order to get the red as bright as I wanted, but not too bright, I put Sally Hansen Wet Cement down first. That's just a nice, light grey! It was better than white = Too bright! And better than black = waaayyy too dark!
Quite a fan! I think it turned out nice!
I taped the red (and grey) after the matte had dried. I thought it needed more so I used a cheapy little glitter striper as well. At that point, I could have gotten away with freehanding the red, no problem.

I've been watching a ton of Fullmetal Alchemist lately with the SO. AWESOME anime, in case you were wondering. I watch the subs, so I can't do my nails at the same time...Hence the delay and long lasting purple mani!! I'll be thinking of ideas for the next mani watching Ed and Al! =D

What do you think? How's the matte doing it for ya??

Giveaway winner and today's mani!

Hello everyone! This giveaway was so much fun! I'm glad you joined and thank you so much for the support!!
I can't even believe how many followers I gained with this, thank you!! Now I have to actually do something to impress you, yes???
I feel that maybe I cheated. Of course people will come if there is free stuff involved! But, I still did it, and here you are!! Don't go anywhere, you never know what I may do next.

Anyway, congrats to Lulu!!! She is the winner of the Summertime Giveaway! Thank you again to everyone who entered! It means so much to me that people actually like the art and obsession enough to look at it every now and again. <3 <3

So, here is my mani I did today. I just bought Essie Sexy Divide, Super lovely purple!!!
Purples are always so hard to capture. I had to change the temperature of the picture just a bit to acquire the actual color of the polish. That is a reason why this is the only pic, too!
I have to say, this pic is not one of my best, but also not the worse either!!

The stamping is done with a plate that I got in the As Seen on TV kit, but it is a knock off of M60. Love my cheapy plates!! The gold is a Sally Hansen Quick Color chrome pen. Those things are AWESOME for stamping! =D

I need more plates!! I really only have the Bundle Monster ones. Any suggestions of the best patterns? I love patterns that cover the whole nail! Super pretty!
Please let me know!!!

Have a fab day, everyone! <3

Candy Stripes

Hey everyone!!

The giveaway has closed!!! I will be announcing the winner soon!! <3 I have to go through and clean up the entries first.
Until then, here is a super cute mani I did today; complete with more pictures than usual! Woohoo! Tim says that his first thought was star burst, but not the candy! Then I thought of candy... and then it looked delicious!
I've been thinking lots of polish looks delicious lately...Whimsical anyone? =D

So I wanted to do something more colorful than what I have been wearing. I made a cool green franken on Thursday, but it's super fall-ish. I'll share it with you later!

This is Zoya Dana, Zoya Jolene, and Essie A Cut Above.
Zoya Dana is so pretty!!

After Dana, I used tape to apply Jolene. I'm a bit sad because Dana and SV weren't totally dry, wrinkling them a bit under the tape, and making the lines uneven..Boo.

While that was super pretty, I decided glitter. Right?? That's always a good finishing move!!!
I tried to gradient this, but it's not got enough glitter in it to gradient very well. But still so pretty!!!

Both of these Zoya are from the Flash collection. Check it out here!!

My First Franken

Hello everyone! So sorry, I wanted this to be more picture heavy, but I usually fail at that! So again, you get one! =D
I'll work on that, I promise!! In the meantime, I want to share this with you, and get your feedback on frankens!!
First, let me say, this was eyeshadow. I bought a pallet from Ulta and one broke, so here it is!
I thought it would look awesome with a mattecoat on it, so there's that.

Anyway, for those of you who do frankens all the time, please help!!
What are your secrets for having the eyeshadow not settle to the bottom and stay there forever? I threw in a steel ball(zinc coated, I hope that doesn't cause a problem....They were cheap!) to help mix, although I'm sure 2 would be better.
What are tricks to keep bubbles out? Even after shaking and letting it sit for a while, it was still so bubbly!
Also, what is the best way to create a fine powder with the eyeshadow?
I'm sure I can easily find a tutorial on all of this, but I would rather see what you have to say! =D

Please help me out with this! I really want more frankens! =D

Also, what should I name this pretty blue?

Claws!

Hello everyone!
I've been hesitant to post any pictures of my nails lately. They broke so short and are taking too long to come back!
But I toughened up and just did it.

This is a fun half-moon kinda mani I decided to try. I was just going to be boring at first and do a solid color, then Essie Shine of the Times called to me. After that I just needed a tape design! I think they look like claws and I need to do this design more often, totally in love!

So here we have Zoya Neeka, Essie Shine of the Times, and Zoya Dovima!

I wanted more pictures than just one, but after I took them I just decided my middle nail is still a tad too short for my liking. I also wanted a progression, but same story. So you get one pic!

The tape on the middle finger went all askew, and of course you cant see that irl, just in pictures!

I'm totally digging the Dovima with a top coat! It's actually a matte finish, but it had just the right amount of shimmer for this mani when shiny, so its perfect!

I bought Art of Beuty (Zoya, Qtica) nail growth stimulator a week ago. I've been using it as a base coat, which is perfect since I change my nails at least every other day! Hopefully it will do all it says! =D

Zoya Flash and Reverie Swatches

Hey everyone!! So I got these fantastic older collections from Zoya to show you today!! These aren't actually mine to keep, which is why they are NOT on my nails! =(
I bought the for my next nail polish party!!
We're all so polished up on Zoya's Beach and Surf, we almost forget the other amazing colors there are!!

First I will show you the Flash collection. Mostly because it took better pictures!!
From left to right we have:
Robyn, Perrie, Dana, Jolene, Maura, Jancyn
Of these, I own 2! =D Perrie and Jancyn. Both AMAZING colors! Well, this whole collection is; I'm a sucker for bright cremes!

Aren't they so lovely? Perfect for the summer! So if you're over the Beach and Surf yet (unlikely!), check these lovely ladies out! Older collections never go out of style!

Now we have the Reverie collection. Now this was very difficult to photograph, and the get bright enough. The pics are still lovely, but if you were to see them in the sunlight, you would drool. As it is...I blog at midnight. =/ No sun there!!

Adina, Reece, Happi, Lana, Gwin, Laney
Of these I also own 2! Gwin and Laney. You can kind of tell that they each have a lovely iridescent color to them from the pics, but as I said, in the sun these beauties are amazing!

I think I may retake this shot for you in the sunlight if I ever get a chance, just so you can see how pretty!

I WISH these collections were for me, but they aren't. =(
So you lucky ladies who are going to be attending my party will get a chance to call them your own!!

PS - More art is on it's way. I broke sooo many nails recently, so I'm just giving them a chance to come back a little bit before I start showing them off to the world! =D

I'm still around, honest! Also older art!

Hello dear readers!
I am still alive and kicking, promise! I always hate it when I go so long without posting something. I know, it's not even been a week, and that's reaallly not that long. That all doesn't matter! I still feel bad. =(
Tonight, If I had my laptop, I would have pictures of awesome Zoya stuff! As it is, I only have the boyfriends computer. It's so fancy and big...but no card reader. Really? All these fancy gadgets and it doesn't have the one thing I need....So until my laptop is back, I will share a few older manis with you!!!
=D
Some fancy camo-ish water marbling!!! =D There is brown there, but very little.

Tape! This was fun. My first taping adventure. Kinda totally love it!

The Nightmare Before Christmas Nails!! I did this around Halloween last year. Acrylic paint is pretty effin awesome if I say so myself! Accept my teeny brush I used got ruined...Gotta find another..

So anyway, all of these were really before I cared much about presentation of pics. So we'll ignore the flooded cuticles and the painful looking ouches. Also how my hands are held. So just enjoy the art and don't worry about all of that!!!

<3
Loves to you all!
