It's my Reddit Cakeday!

So I should have cake.
Anyway, I was going to do cupcakes for this special occasion...But I decided to do wrapped presents instead!!!

 Happy cakeday!
So I added the bow as an afterthought, but I liked it better before. Meh. Still cute!!

 Here it is before.

Dawwww, Kinda too cutesy and pink for me. Despite my layout, I'm not really a pinkish person!
This is Zoya Jolene and OPI Pedal Faster Suzi.
I used tape for the 'ribbon' strips. The accent nail is done with the plastic wrap method.

I think I will end up taking the bow off..Yup.

So anyhow, Reddit. Yes. I thought it was tomorrow, so I was slowly getting around to this. Then I decided to comment on a post and behold. CAKE! Aw, crap, gotta hurry if I want to post this with a meaning!!!

It's kinda more plaidish than presents, but whatever! I still totally think it's overwhelmingly cute.
What do you think?

Love me some Reddit Lacqueristas!!

Ah, here is a nice swatch of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi. LOVE this color! It was going to be the frosting on the cupcake. xD

Good day! <3

Yeah, I have nothing that matches this!

Hello friends!
I decided it's gradient time. Again. Yeah, I do that a lot!
It's all Zoya, but that's not new! Summery goodness for your eyes to see! =D

I started with Zoya Creamy. Its an awesome yellow, but required 3 coats. I think next time I use it I will put it over a base of white. Should help!

I used a cosmetic sponge for the gradient. This time I tried the double color on the sponge. Both yellow and the orange, which by the way is Zoya Jancyn!

I like the look of that more than just trying to work with the orange on the sponge. It blended sooo nicely! =D

I feel that this mani needs something else, but I couldn't decide what. Maybe a rhinestone or a little flowery sticker. I just went with it, can't decide! I really tried to get this blog post up before midnight. SUCCESS for me, but not for half of the country. Oh well. Hope you enjoy it any how!!

Stripe mani - Tutorial!

Hey! I felt like it was a good idea to show you how I did my last mani!

Recap of that:
(because, you know, 10 hours ago was sooooo long!)

Start with one or two coats of base. I used Zoya Avery for this.

Next take your striping tape and cut 5 little strips, long enough to hang over the edges, horizontally.
Here is the tape I used, you can get some on eBay Here!!! If anyone know of a lacquerista selling this stuff, that's better to support, so let us know! I don't remember which one I used, but they are all fairly cheap. Also there are many many uses for this stuff! =D

Apply the tape with an overhang on the sides.

Paint in the sections you wish. If you want all different colors, you may need to use a smaller brush!

Take the strips off with tweezers while the polish is still wet, and apply topcoat(after it's dry enough, or course)!
I applied topcoat too soon, so it ran...So I didn't take a pic...But you get the idea!!

I'd love to see some super pretty stripey manis. So please share if you do this!!!
PS - Check out my friend's brand new blog! She doesn't have much up, but what she has is killer!!

Stripe tape is fun!

Hey my favorite people ever! <3
So I got all inspired by some amazing nails I found...I believe it was Chalkboard Nails. Yeah, we'll go with that!

Anyway, I wanted to do a rainbow, but what rushed out the door when picking colors, so I brought 4 lovely Zoyas with me instead!

Cut to the chase:

We've got Zoya Avery, Megan, Caitlin, and Mira!

Avery is the super awesome nude from the feel collection. After putting the stripes on i realized I should have went with a super pale grey or white, but eh, still like it!
Megan is also from Feel. Its a nice purpley grey color. Love it!!! Caitlin is more blue than purple, but still fit into the scheme pretty well. And Mira...LOVE Mira! It's the perfect purple...I think I say that about all of the purples I use, though...

Horizontal stripes may have been a bad idea after all. Short nails should be made to look longer with vertical stripes, so this just made them look squat and fat. Boo. Oh well!
Avery was PERFECT for my nails by itself...shoulda' taken a pic, but was away from camera when I did this; I'll get a swatch of it later. It made my nails look a perfect length, even though I think they are a bit short still!

For this I used striper tape. I will get a tutorial of that up soon, I should hope. Again, wasn't able to do any pics beforehand. =(

I will soon do my rainbow....Do not fret! =D

PS: Took pics after a day of hooping. Please excuse!

Tutorial here!

That mani where you think, "What am I even doing?"

Hey everyone! So here this is..I was going along when I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I started with something else in mind entirely, but then this happened! Didn't turn out so bad, I must say. I kinda like it!

So I picked these 3 colors for whatever else, but then I ended up with this. If feels similar to something I've done before, but different enough!

This is OPI I Have a Herring Problem, Zoya Yara, and Zoya Neeka. All 3 of these have a really cool finish. I've been wanting to use this OPI for a while now. I think this turned out pretty good!
I need to get another tiny striper brush...The one I used to have broke and this one doesn't work as well..=/

I'm beginning to run out of short nail ideas. My poor nails are having a hard time getting long. Too much hooping, maybe? Naw!!

As I was selecting pictured for this..I got to thinking. Why do I take so many to choose 2 or 3? Then, why do I even feel obligated to show the mani at 3 or 4 different angles? Hm. Oh well, I still will! =D

Happy Thursday!

So Whimsical

So there is this hype behind Revlon Whimsical. It took me a while to find this polish to understand the hype, and I kinda do.
It just looks delicious, as I've said before! I do that sometimes; judge things if they look appealing enough to eat. This polish does. Looks like cupcakes or something! Anyway..I found the bottle and wanted to use it, but it's sooooo sheer! Jelly much...

I noticed that it has a very similar color to Zoya Kristen, so I decided that I would layer it.

Well here you are! The color match is near perfect, so it works great!

This was actually 2 coats of Whimsica over Kristen.. I must have been doing something wrong with this, because on my right hand one coat looked like this. Still, yummy looking, yes?

Are there any polishes/colors you find look 'yummy'? I can't be the only one!!
