A few missing days.

I hate this week in the challenge. I hated it last time, I still do. It's delicate print that stops me in my tracks. I don't know what that is? Anyway, here is that day, glitter, and half moon!!!

Venique Lost in Bermuda with BM310 plate! This is day 15. Delicate print enough? Yeah it's cool. =)

What? Did I just skip tribal print? Yes. Yes I did!

Day 17 Glitter. This is great because this is 3 different bottles of glitter. Zoya Natty is the base coat, then over that, middle finger: Spoiled Use Protection (that was actually the first time I looked at the name of that. I had a good chuckle.). Ring finger: Julep Harper. Pinkie: Sinful Colors Nail Junkie. That one was actually 3 coats. The glitter isn't as dense there. I like this cheapy Spoiled brand, but I got it out of my state at a pharmacy. I can't find it here. Oh well...

Yeah, I have 3 of the same glitters.

Day 18 is Half Moons. I still find this style pretty unattractive, but I really am coming around! I liked this a lot with the hand placed glitter! This is Zoya Blu and Julie. Hand placed Venique Twinkling Glitter. I love these pretty pastels by Zoya!!!

Day 13 - Flowers!

Hey everyone. Here is some more freehand fore you. In all honesty, I'm not a huge fan of this. I think it's my acrylic paint. It's just bad quality! But oh well, here you have it!

This is Sinful Colors Easy Going. Its such a nice soft pinkish white. Totally love it! The flowers are acrylic paint with a one stroke technique which I am not so good at. Practice practice!!! Again, it's probably just my paint. That and you are your biggest critic, right? Looking back, I shouldn't have put the little swirly pink things on..Yeah.

Day 12 - Animal 'Print'

More like animal "prints"!!
Ah haha, I'm so funny. /bad joke
This is Venique Wingtip White and acrylic paint. I wanted a new take on the animal print, because I don't want to do cheetah spots or zebra stripes. Yes yes, that's all lovely and fine... but Kitties! This is all freehand with my tiny brush that I wish was smaller.

I love doing freehand things, I just wish I had a teeny bit more creativity to think of things! But I like this a lot. =)

Day 11 We've got some stripes!

Hey all!
Today is day 11 of the challenge, and stripes it is!

Wasn't sure what I was going for here, but I used more striping tape!

OPI Pedal Faster Suzi is the pink, Venique Wing Tip White, and Zoya Raven.
This is almost elegant. I simply painted the nails all a base of white, then put a stripe of pink on. I covered up the places I wanted to stay pink and white with striping tape and covered it again with Raven. I've always loved pinks and black together!

One more thing: I have a little Etsy shop / Facebook page completely unrelated to nails. I am a hooper! I play and dance with hula hoops. I also make and sell them. I wanted to share with you my pages, because when I reach 100 likes on FB, I will be giving away a free hula hoop!!!
- Facebook
-Etsy Shop
Get to liking the page if it interests you! I can't wait to give away a free hoop!

Day 11 is Polka Dots!

I didn't listen to Polka while dotting. I think I failed.

Gray colors used: CND Asphalt, China Glaze Recycle, and Zoya Dove.
Purples: Zoya Sofia, Keiko and Perrie!
The base is Venique Wing Tip White

Why is it that when anyone else does random dots or stripes or whatever they look awesome, but when I do it I feel it's more messy? The pics made me like it more, but for the most part I am not really a fan of this mani. But it will do!

Day 10 - Gradient

Yeah, you thought I was just going to use my rainbows as gradients? No way!!

I used birthday presents for this one! Butter London Slapper and Illamasqua Viridian.
Guess who gave me these super great presents? Why none other than Masha and Raine from Lost in Lacquer and Lacquer Lily! They are both doing this challenge, as well. Don't forget to check out their blogs!

How about a finishing touch?? Hits Hefesto! This is what Masha actually got me. Technically the Butter was from her brother, but I'm sure she helped!Yes, a holo topcoat! Sooo lovely! This is just one coat of that. Gotta make that beauty last as long as possible!

I finally used all of my birthday colors! Woo!

Day 9 - Rainbows!

YAY!!! I love rainbows! And gradients. So why not put them both together??

Venique The Perfect Accessory
Zoya Jancyn
Zoya Creamy
China Glaze Gaga for Green
China Glaze Holly Day
Julep Hoch
China Glaze First Mate
Zoya Toni (I didn't even know I had this one!)
Zoya Keiko.

All topped with Venique Clear is the New Sexy. I added a tiny bit of Zoya Mira to the tip of the pinkie, but you can't tell. The yellow is super bright! My rainbow selection is a bit in the lacking. I have either too dark or too bright! Gotta revamp that.

I was debating on saving this for gradient, but naw. I'll do something else cute for that one!!

Don't forget to check out Lost in Lacquer and Lacquer Lily! These two ladies are also taking this challenge and have some fantastic work!

Day 8 - Metallic

This one made me a little sad, because I wanted something epic, but got decent instead. No biggie, it was worth the try!!!

Let me first show you my final product:

Yeahhh! This is China Glaze Agro. The bottle makes it seem a LOT more metallic than it really is, but it's still such a pretty color! I'm bummed with how these pictures turned out. I really need to check out some better lighting!

Anyhoo, the following is what I started this day's challenge with.

And I know what you're thinking....

Does she really have tin foil on her fingers???
Yes. Yes I do.
Let me tell you about tin foil... The idea is nice, but it doesn't stretch. Of course it doesn't! So unless you have perfect nails, you will have wrinkles. I mean, foil wasn't made for beauty, right? Unless you count putting highlights in you hair... From afar (like, extending your arm all the way and looking), the mani looks pretty sweet! But once it's up closer, the wrinkles are crazy prominent! Also it doesn't stay on and last very long.
So we can ignore the wrinkles, and look at Entei instead. Even though he is half cut off anyway. Don't worry, he will just run away and come back when you least expect it. He does that.
I decided to hold a Pokémon instead of a cardboard box of foil. =D

Don't forget to check out Lost in Lacquer and Lacquer Lily! These two ladies are also taking this challenge and have some fantastic work!

See you next time!

Day 7 - Black and White

I'm on the ball, YAY!

Don't forget to check out Lost in Lacquer and Lacquer Lily! These two are also doing this challenge!

Veniqure! Wing Tip White and Dominating Thigh Highs by Venique! Taping, striping tape, and splatter. Spatter. Either way! I used acrylic paint for the splats. It's much easier to clean, and sooo much cheaper to use for techniques that waste a lot. I was a little less than thrilled when the top coat dragged the black and made it all streaky. It was sooo perfect before then! But I still like it! I think it is super fun. There is way too much topcoat on all but the accent. It gives them this 'rounded' feel that I don't find appealing. Oh well, still cute!

I am seriously out of cotton balls... It is really putting a damper on my art. I hate using acetone with a paper towel! It just dries too fast.
Gotta get to the store.

Day 6 is Violet!!

Wooo, way late on this one! Oh well!

At least now A couple good friends of mine can catch up! My lovey friend Masha has created a blog! You should ALL go check this out! Lost in Lacquer. She is doing this challenge as wall and OMG her work is amazeballs!!! Check out her day 5. Omgs.

Doing this challenge, also, is Raine at Lacquer Lily. She's just begun and it's super cute! Check it out!

Anyhoo. Here is my Violet!

I kind of had an inspiration from the background theme on the PS3. It's not purple on my console, but then again, day six isn't gray! So what can ya do?
Colors used:
Venique Lost in Bermuda - Base
China Glaze Spontaneous - Thick stripe
China Glaze Tantalize Me - Thin stripes
Super simple design. Just freehand your stripes on with the bottles brush, then a small detain brush. Which, by the way, mine is too big. I had a teeeeny one once, but it got ruined. The one I have is ok, but just not amazing. So if anyone knows a PERFECT tiny detail brush, let me know!!!

Late Day 5 - Blue!

Hey all!! I'm trying to be on top of this 31 days. Not exactly working.
Here is day 5! Blue. Simply blue.

I started with Zoya Harley and used striping tape. The dark blue is Zoya Natty, light is Butter London Artful Dodger. I topped it off with Julep's Mattecoat.
There are small oops spots from the tape, but I didn't care enough for a day long mani! =D

Shoulda gone more glitter.
There's always tomorrow!!!
=D

Green Day Four

Hey all! It's day 4 of the take 2 at 31 days. I'm a bit bummed with this one, because it looks super amazeballs irl. Yes, amazeballs. However, the camera just couldn't capture the real beauty of the polish used! Oh well, still pretty!

This is Zoya Envy with a gradient over striping tape: Zoya Ivanka. I checked out a few swatches of Ivanka, and I am pleased to know I am not the only one having problems capturing just how lovely it is!

Day 4 was late. Day 5 probably will be too. I don't mind so much, and I doubt many of you do either. I'm still posting much more now than I was. YAY!

Also, I am making a new set of polish racks. Out of wood. Yeaaahhh! I decided I ought to do this considering 2 of my shelves busted on my foam racks. SO - if any of you have made the foam racks, I suggest push pins or tiny nails in the sides and back going into the shelves. Sometimes the hot glue just doesn't want to hold!!
I will give you a follow up on my wooded racks when they are closer or built!!
